Don’t keep you cigarettes within reach; store them in a place that can be a hassle to get to. Also try to avoid areas where you can easily begin smoking. Sit in non-smoking sections of restaurants and bars and continue this pattern anywhere you have the option to smoke. Also try tactics such as forcing yourself to only smoke outside. By taking away the convenience of smoking, it will be less difficult for you to quit.
Although the urge to grab a cigarette will happen, it is important to know how to satisfy the craving by doing something else. Try keeping a bowl of hard candies easily available. Or for a healthier option, try nibbling on some fruits and vegetables. It is important to keep yourself busy, as this will help you avoid any urge to smoke.
