Cigarette smoking is a habit that has been formed through pairing nicotine with many of your day to day activities. Preliminary results show that they are up to 75% effective in helping people quit which is better odds than many of the other products.

If you can get a fellow smoker to quit with you, do it. Social support is a key ingredient to giving up any bad habit. If you can convince yourself that someone will be disappointed in you if you fail, it will serve as a very strong and enduring motivation to stay smoke free.

Another step to becoming smoke free is to keep yourself busy. Choosing activities where smoking is not allowed will definitely help you on this difficult road. Choosing activities with people who frown on smoking will be an even bigger deterrent.

Try and stay away from places where cigarettes are sold. Pay at the pump at the gas station so you do not have to go inside and will not be tempted. Keep out of convenience stores and try to do your shopping in smoke free environments.
